The Elen Degeneres video "Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol" is an example of satire because it is a parody. Ellen dresses up as a window cleaner and is cleaning the windows in the famous scene where Tom Cruise climbs the outside of a sky-rise building. It is funny because the original clip is one that everyone knows and therefore understands the parody.

The "Presidential Fitness Test Now Awarded To Any Kid Who Can Eat Without Sweating" from the onion is an example of incongruity. This article creates an absurd contest where kids compete in a "all you can eat" contest instead of a fitness test. The article says that "kids should not be given unrealistic goals of running once around a basketball court."which is making fun of the american kids who are continuously getting more and more obese. This article is funny but sad at the same time because it is addressing a serious problem but in a funny way.
